With over 20 years of experience at Odorite, Neil is well-rounded and exceptionally knowledgeable in all aspects of our industry. His personal touch and dedication are something our customers have come to rely on. Neil is never too busy to give customers helpful advice on how to overcome their cleaning challenges.

Retiring from his career as a corporate executive, Carl could not be more excited for the opportunity to join his brother and help Odorite continue its success as a family-owned business in Maine. Carl is a firm believer in offering local support and personal attention to customers, and building on those values for the future.

Our HiStory
Odorite’s modest beginnings date back to 1947 and the period just after WWII, when Gerry Boxstein decided to open a small family business, selling janitorial supplies and cleaning equipment to local businesses in the greater Portland area. Working with his family, Mr. Boxstein grew the Odorite company one customer at a time, earning a reputation as an honest and reliable distributor.
Building on that reputation for over 45 years, Odorite continued to grow successfully until Mr. Boxstein retired in 1994, selling Odorite to Guy Bouthot. Guy and his family moved Odorite from it’s small shop at Thompson’s Point to its current location on Wallace Avenue in South Portland. With the move came an expanded warehouse, allowing Odorite to better serve their growing customer base. The new showroom provided a place for Guy to welcome customers on-site so he could demonstrate a wide variety of janitorial equipment and offer guidance on commercial cleaning challenges.
After growing Odorite for more than 27 years, Guy decided to retire at the end of 2021 and sell the company to his long-time General Manager, Neil Tourigny, and Neil’s brother Carl. Neil and Carl proudly took over the reins in January of 2022, just in time to celebrate Odorite’s 75th year in business. They are committed to Odorite’s long-standing reputation as an honest and reliable janitorial supply distributor and will continue to build on this legacy for many years to come.
